Description
Nos. 9 and 10 on Hole Bottom Road are two cottages that have been combined into one dwelling. The original cottage dates from the late 18th century and is two stories high, while an early 19th-century addition at the northern end is three stories tall. The building features watershot masonry and ashlar quoins, topped with a stone slate roof. The 18th-century section consists of three cells, each with flat-faced mullioned windows of four lights on the first floor. The ground floor has a mix of two-light, three-light, and four-light windows, although one window is missing two mullions. The attached cottage has two bays of square windows with plain stone surrounds on the first and second floors, all of which have altered glazing. The roof has three stacks.
