Description
Nos. 1 and 3 Oak Hill Clough are two cottages that were originally four back-to-back units, dating from the late 18th century. The building features watershot masonry and a stone slate roof, with a double pile layout and three storeys. It has quoins and two tall bays, each with a doorway that includes sill ties and flat-faced mullioned windows with two wide lights on each floor, most of which still have six-paned sash windows. The left-hand return wall has a blocked first-floor taking-in door, while the rear has similar windows. The return wall displays four bays of sash windows on the first and second floors, each with six panes. At the ridge, there are two well-dressed ashlar stacks. Inside, the ground floor retains fireplaces with stone shelves.
