Description

Causeway Cottage is a house that likely dates from the mid 17th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of stone coursed rubble and features a stone slate roof, with a stone ridge stack located to the right of the center and an end stack on the left. The building is a single storey with an attic and has a four-bay range. The garden front has a 20th-century door and window arrangements, while the street front includes a three-light casement window at the center. There are also three half-dormers, each with three-light casements. Inside, there is a winder staircase leading to a staircase turret on the right of the center. The roof structure includes trench-purlins. The kitchen on the ground floor to the right features a chamfered spine beam with ogee end stops, and there are chamfered cross-beams in the center and left of the ground floor. Additionally, there are blocked fireplaces located to the right of center on the ground floor.
