Description
The war memorial, dating from around 1922, is located 50 meters east of the Dusty Miller Public House in Mytholmroyd. It features a carved white marble statue of a soldier in battle-dress, resting his hands on the barrel of his gun while standing on a rock. The base of the statue is engraved with a scroll that reads: "IN COMMEMORATION OF THE GALLANTRY AND SACRIFICE OF THE MEN OF THE MYTHOLMROYD URBAN DISTRICT WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-18". The memorial is set on a granite plinth and is situated in a small park in the center of the village.
