Description
Rob Royd and the attached barn are a house and barn dating from the mid-18th century. They are constructed of thin coursed Elland flags with a stone slate roof, forming an L-plan with a later attached barn, and are two storeys high. The front features large dressed quoins and two 5-light flat faced mullioned windows with overlapping lintels, along with stone gutter brackets. The left-hand return wall is rendered and has a coped gable with kneelers, featuring two large 19th-century inserted sash windows on each floor. There is a finely dressed stack with an internal chimney. The projecting wing is a single cell with a 4-light mullioned window above, and it has gutter brackets and a hipped roof. The 3-bay barn includes a segmental arched entrance with skewbacks and composite jambs, flanked by doorways leading to mistals with monolithic jambs. Each bay has a lunette opening above, with a pedimented gable at the center that features a simple Venetian window. The barn also has coped gables with kneelers.
