Description

This is an early 19th century barn and warehouse, located to the north east of Beestonley Farmhouse. It was originally used as a combined barn and weaving shop, with an upper floor dedicated to textile production. The barn is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a stone slate roof. It is three storeys high and incorporates a mistal (animal shelter) in the basement at the right hand end. A round-headed barn entry is visible. The first floor features two square windows with projecting sills. The second floor contains an impressive 14-light window, with four lights being solid, and a continuous sill. Stone gutter brackets are present. The left hand return wall shows evidence of a blocked taking-in door formerly leading to a window. The gables are coped.
