Description
Barn to Dene Royd is a late 18th-century structure that includes cottages and a barn. It is built from hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. The west side has paired doorways in the center, which are topped with solid segmental arches. The east front has a central square recessed porch with paired square-headed entries leading into the barn. At the first floor level, there are 4-light flat-faced mullioned windows on both sides, although one window has lost its mullion. There are entries in the central return walls that lead to the internal porch. The interior consists of 5 bays with a queen-strut roof. This building represents an unusual arrangement of dwellings combined with a barn.
