Description

Stainland Stocks are a pair of monolithic stone slabs dating from the 17th century, located on the east side of Elland Stainland Road. Each slab has a curved head and features inward-facing slots that were originally cut for wooden stocks, which are now missing. The left stone bears the initials 'LJ 1611' on its face, while the right stone has 'HG 1688' on its right-hand return face. In front of the stocks, there are two octagonal stone piers with octagonal caps, positioned about 1.5 meters away. Additionally, there is one loose octagonal pier nearby.
