Description
This is a tall barn located 20 meters to the west of Green Field in Luddendenfoot, Halifax, built in 1851 and marked with the initials "J.F." The barn is constructed from large dressed stone, featuring a surface that is punched within a margin, and has a slate roof.
The main entrance is a basket-arched carriage entry, which includes impost blocks and a keystone. This entry is set within a tall stilted arched recess that has a bullseye window and four keystones above it. The barn also has arrow slit ventilators. On either side of the barn, there are mistal doorways with tie-stone jambs and gutter brackets.
On the right-hand return wall, there are two sash windows with projecting sills that retain 12-pane glazing, along with additional arrow slit ventilators. There is also a two-light mullioned window with arched heads at the apex, which is topped by a cast iron weathervane.
