Description

This is an early 17th-century barn located to the north east of number 23 Towngate, Brighouse, Clifton. It is a 5-bay barn of a single-aisled plan. The barn is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a stone slate roof featuring copings and kneelers. The east elevation features a central doorway with an elliptical arch supported by skewbacks and monolithic jambs. To the right of the doorway are two windows inserted in the early 19th century, and a lean-to addition. To the left is a series of rectangular ventilators. The west side has a single aisle under a cat slide roof. It includes a small doorway with monolithic jambs, one other similar doorway, and two windows, all dating to the early 19th century.
