Description

This milestone, located opposite the junction with Towngate, is a Grade II listed structure. It features a single arch-headed slab of stone that is overlaid with cast iron. The milestone has two projecting faces with bold relief lettering. The left face indicates distances to Cleckheaton (2½ miles), Birstall (5 miles), and Morley (7¾ miles). The right face shows that Brighouse is 1 mile away.
