Description
Firth House is a pair of cottages from the mid to late 18th century, now combined into one dwelling. The building is constructed of hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof with a two-span design. It stands two storeys tall.
The south front has paired doorways with large overlapping lintels and composite jambs, flanked by four-light flat-faced mullioned windows that are slightly recessed, featuring overlapping heads and sills. Above these are five-light mullioned windows. The left-hand gable has quoins, while the right-hand side includes a solid segmental-headed cart entrance, which has a three-light mullioned window inserted, along with a blocked taking-in door above it and another three-light mullioned window.
The north front displays quoined angles and has an inserted entrance with a 20th-century timber porch. It also features a five-light flat-faced recessed mullioned window, with two similar windows above it, and one stack on the ridge.
