Description
This is a late 18th-century lock forming an entry point to the canal cut from the River Calder. It is constructed with dressed stone lock walls topped with large, rectangular stone cappings. These cappings have well-formed curved ends and recesses for the lock gates at both ends. The water level is marked by incised Roman numerals. Further features include iron mooring hooks.
