Description

Kirklees Mill House and Kirklees Cottage are a house and cottages dating from the early 19th century. They are built from hammer-dressed stone and feature a stone slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high and have a nearly square plan beneath a hipped roof. The south front has three symmetrical bays, each containing a doorway with monolithic jambs and sashed windows with plain surrounds. The corners of the building are accentuated with quoins. The right-hand return wall has a sashed window on the ground floor and a cottage with a doorway that has tie-stones forming a sill band above a four-light flat-faced mullioned window, with a similar window above it. There is also a smaller cottage with a doorway featuring monolithic jambs and a two-light flat-faced mullioned window above it, along with three stacks.
