Description

This is a row of cottages that now forms a single dwelling, dating from the mid-18th century but incorporating earlier windows from the early 17th century. The building is constructed of thin coursed stone with ashlar quoins and has a stone slate roof.

The first section, which is set back, features three flat-faced mullioned windows with three lights and a doorway that has monolithic jambs leading to the lower floor. The quoins are visible here. The second section has a former five-light flat-faced mullioned window next to a doorway with an overlapping lintel and monolithic jambs. The first floor includes a four-light window with overlapping heads and sills, and quoins are present at the division between the third and fourth sections.

The remainder of the house is arranged in a three-room plan. On the ground floor, there are double chamfered mullioned windows with arched lights and sunken spandrels, featuring four lights and hoodmoulds with circular label stops above. There are three cottage doorways, two of which are blocked. The first floor has flat-faced mullioned windows with configurations of four lights, four lights, and five lights.

On the right-hand return wall, there is a two-light double chamfered mullioned window with arched lights and a hoodmould with straight returns. The building has four stacks along the ridge.
