Description

This stone house dates from around 1820 to 1830 and is situated next to a canal bridge, with historical connections to the Leeds and Liverpool Canal Company. The building is constructed of tooled ashlar, appearing like stone "bricks," with pronounced sill bands. It has a gable-ended stone slate roof and corniced chimneys on both sides. The symmetrical facade features three windows, with later sash windows set within squared stone frames. A doorway is topped with a semi-circular fanlight and a key voussoir arch.
