Description
Nos 25 and 27 Stockhill Fold is a late 17th century or early 18th century farmhouse that was altered around 1786 in connection with Stockhill House. The building is two storeys high and constructed from coursed gritstone with flush quoins. It features a stone slate roof with corniced chimneys added around 1786, including one saddlestone with prominent kneelers.
No 25 has broad three-light square mullion windows on the first floor, set in squared surrounds, and three-light, originally five-light, chamfered mullion windows on the ground floor, which are in splayed reveals. No 27 features two-light square mullion windows on the first floor and an original two-light chamfered mullion window on the ground floor, along with plain squared jamb doorways from circa 1786.
