Description

This is a mid to late 18th-century house located on Harrogate Road, Greengates/Apperley. It has a symmetrical facade of two storeys and three bays. The house is built of slightly irregular coursed sandstone with an ashlar plat band. Stone slate covers the roof, with block brackets to the eaves and corniced chimneys. The windows are square mullion windows with four lights, except for the single window above the porch, which has two lights.

The porch has a simplified bolection architrave surround to the doorway, a slightly pulvinated frieze, and a moulded pediment. The details of the porch may have been altered around 1900. To the left of the main front is a three-storey extension dating to around 1800, featuring two-light square mullion windows.
