Description

This is a row of six cottages, numbered 4 to 14 Prospect Street, in Thornton, dating to around 1840. They were originally built as part of the Prospect Mill complex. The cottages are stepped to follow the slope of the land. They are constructed from sandstone, which has a similar appearance to brick. The roofs are covered with stone slate and have small brackets under the eaves, with corniced chimneys. The windows are two-light square mullion windows, though some have been altered. The doorways have simple, squared jambs.
