Description

Bridgehouse Mills, now Airedale Springs Ltd, is a mill built around 1800 to the mid-19th century. It is constructed from coursed dressed millstone grit and stands four storeys tall. The left portion of the building is the earliest part, featuring seven bays with a broad central bay that slightly projects under a pediment. The corners have quoins, and there is a central rusticated shouldered archway leading to an inner court, which includes a keystone mask, rusticated pilasters, and a cornice. Above the cart arch, on the second floor, there is a stepped three-light window with a Venetian window above it and an oculus in the gable. Other windows are fitted with small panes of four-pane sashes, and there is a round arched doorway with an iron lampholder over the archivolt.

Adjoining to the right is a mid-19th century block that also has seven bays, with the central bay featuring a pedimented attic, pilasters, a round-arched window, and a keystone. A small turret with a flattened pyramidal roof is located at the south-west corner. Behind the earliest block is a plain mid-19th century range.
