Description
Haworth Station is a railway station built in 1867 and 1883. It is constructed from coursed stone and features a graduated grey slate roof. The building is single storey with four bays, where bays three and four were added later. Bays one and three have gabled roofs that project forward.
Bays one and two include a plinth and round-arched openings, which are adorned with moulded archivolts, keystones, and impost blocks. The central doorway in bay two has panelled double doors and is flanked by four-pane sash windows set in recesses. A moulded impost band runs above, and there is a wrought-iron lamp bracket to the left of the door. In bay one, there is a two-light window with four-paned sashes and a corbelled cill. The station features a dentilled cornice and a corniced end stack on the left.
Bays three and four have fixed-light windows with glazing bars, chamfered cills, and lintels. Bay three has a tall, central, round-arched window with voussoirs, flanked by shorter, flat-arched windows, and a stepped raised band at the gable eaves with a corbelled barge board. Bay four contains four windows and has a raised eaves band and an overhanging roof.
The platform elevation mirrors the front but includes a door on the right that provides access to the 'Ladies Room'. Three gas lights hang from the station. To the left of the station, connected by a lower block, is the Porter's room, built in the late 19th century, featuring a four-panel door on the left and a six-pane window on the right with chamfered cill and lintels. The platform is also equipped with five gas lamps. The Worth Valley Railway was opened in 1867.
