Description

Ebor House is a house dating to 1829, with additions from the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed dressed stone with a stone slate roof. The house is two storeys and five bays wide, featuring a balanced facade. The centre three bays represent the original design, with the central bay projecting forward. Bays one and five were added later and are set back. A part-glazed door is centrally placed, surrounded by panelled jambs and lintel, topped by a frieze and pediment. Sash windows with flush stone surrounds and projecting cills are found in bays two, three, and four. Bays one and five have round-headed windows, also in flush stone surrounds, distinguished by keystones and impost blocks. A blocked door is situated to the right of bay five. A 20th-century pent glass-house projects from bay one. The central portion has plain gutter brackets, a cornice, and an ashlar parapet. Ashlar coping defines the gables. Chimney stacks are located at the ends of the central portion of the house.
