Description

Bar House is an estate cottage that has been converted into a house, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed stone with a stone slate roof and features a polygonal plan across two storeys. There is a step leading up to the board door, which is framed by a plain stone surround. Each floor has a small-paned casement window from the 20th century with a raised cill. Above the door, there is a stone plaque dated 1843, indicating that this is the entrance to a private road leading to Vale Mill and Providence Mill, owned by John Craven. This plaque is similar to others located at the Oakworth and Ebor ends of the road.
