Description
This barn, located 15 metres to the north-east of Ghyll House, is likely from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is constructed of rubble brought to course, with dressed quoins and a stone slate roof. The elevation facing the farmyard features a central doorway with composite jambs and a chamfered surround. To the left, there is a mistal doorway at the lower end, which has a quoined lintel and a chamfered surround. The gables are coped and include kneelers. At the rear, there is an aisle to one bay with a cart entry beneath a porch that has a cat-slide roof.
Inside, the barn consists of three bays with simple angle-strut trusses flanking a central threshing area.
