Description
Low Laithe Barn, belonging to Sunny Bank Farm, is a field-barn dated 1733 and associated with the Lister family. The structure is built from rubble brought to course, featuring dressed quoins and a stone slate roof. It has a segmental-arched cart entry created by two cantilevered stones with composite jambs. To the right, there is a mistal doorway with a dated lintel and a chamfered surround. The rear of the barn includes a central doorway with tie stone jambs and a chamfered surround, topped by a crude hood made from three slates supporting a fourth slate. The gables have square breather holes and a triangular owlhole located at the apex of the left-hand return wall.
