Description
Moor View is a house dating from 1785, constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a slate roof. The building was initially identified along with Small Banks Farmhouse to the east. It has two floors and a double-depth layout, originally comprising two rooms at the front. Raised quoins and window surrounds are present. The front doorway has monolithic iambs, topped with a decorative date plaque. Three-light, flat-faced mullioned windows with plain stone surrounds (where the mullions are slightly recessed) are located to either side of the doorway. The gables are coped, with kneelers and stacks. The rear of the house features a doorway with monolithic jambs and windows with plain stone surrounds, along with a stairwindow. A chamfered mullioned window, lighting the cellar, is found on the left-hand return wall.
