Description

This barn, located 100 metres east of Cragg House, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of large coursed rubble with a stone slate roof and features quoins. The barn has a segmental-arched cart entry that includes an inner porch. On the left side, there is a square window with a similar pitching hole above it. To the right, there is a doorway with monolithic jambs leading to the mistal at a lower level. A pitching hole is located under the eaves, and the left gable has a coped design with kneelers. Inside, the barn has a softwood queen-post roof. This structure is included for its group value.
