Description
This barn, located to the south-east of Crag House, dates back to 1798 as indicated on the lintel. It is constructed from coursed, tooled sandstone and features a graduated Lakeland slate roof. The barn is 1½ storeys high and consists of three bays, with an additional bay on the right and a small, later lean-to. The central entrance is a Dutch door situated beneath the dated lintel, flanked by slit vents, with boarded pitching doors located above these slits. The right bay includes a tall segmental-arched cart entrance and a similar loft door. The structure is topped with stone copings and kneelers. Inside, the barn displays a queen-strut roof supported by two levels of purlins.
