Description

The outbuildings to the north of Crag House date from the early 19th century and consist of a stable and a henhouse/pigsty. They are constructed from coursed, tooled sandstone and feature pantiled roofs. The stable, which faces north, is a single storey. On the left side, there is an original stable door set under a heavy lintel, with a similar door inserted on the right. At the extreme right, a small walled yard projects, connecting the stable to the henhouse-pigsty, which has two low floors and is currently roofless. The west side of the stable includes a cart entrance and steps leading to a loft door. The building is finished with stone copings, square kneelers, and a ridge. These outbuildings are included for their group value.
