Description

Netherwood House is an 18th-century building located on Skipton Road, Ilkley. It is a two-storey structure built of squared coursed stone with projecting, chamfered quoins and a parapet. The roof is covered in stone slabs. A central doorway features pilasters and a stone pediment; the tympanum is initialled "WWM" and the lintel is dated 1770. Flanking the doorway are two-storey semi-hexagonal bay windows. The building was significantly enlarged before the end of the 18th century and again at a later date.

The property forms part of a group of buildings of group value with the outbuilding immediately to the north-east of Netherwood House, the north and south outbuildings of Ramsgill Farm, a pair of cottages to the west, and a house to the north-east, along with an outbuilding attached to the last-mentioned house on its east side. The north and south outbuildings at Ramsgill Farm, the pair of cottages west of Netherwood House, and the outbuilding abutting the house north-east of Netherwood House, extend only to local interest.
