Description

Nos 3, 4, 5, and 6 on The Square in Keighley are a group of houses that have been converted into four dwellings, one of which operates as a fish and chip shop. These buildings date back to the 17th century and have undergone some alterations over time. They are constructed from coursed stone and feature a stone slate roof.

The buildings are two storeys high and have two first-floor windows with a gable entry. A chamfered plinth runs along the base. The ground floor has double-chamfered mullion windows, with the left window consisting of three lights and the right window of five lights. Some of the mullions have been removed from the left window, where a board door has been inserted within a plain stone surround. The first floor has a four-light window on the left and a five-light window on the right, both with a continuous hoodmould above.

There is a corniced stack on the right side and an external stack on the left. The right return also features a chamfered plinth, with an original doorway that has a chamfered surround to the left. There is one double-chamfered mullion window on the first floor to the right, although one of its mullions has been removed. Additionally, No. 6 has flat-faced mullion windows.
