Description

This is a farmhouse, former cottage, and attached barn, located off Green End Road in East Morton, Keighley. The core of the farmhouse dates to the 17th century, with a barn dated 1664 ("TEMES 1664") and the house itself marked "MTE 1666." The property was altered in the 18th century. The farmhouse is constructed of stone with a stone slate roof. The right-hand side of the farmhouse has two storeys. An original doorway, blocked and bearing a dated lintel, is visible. The ground floor features double-chamfered mullion windows, some with transoms, of five and six lights; the six-light window has a doorway cut into it, while first-floor windows are of four and five lights. A string course runs along the front. An extension to the right has a string course, though the front of the farmhouse was remodelled in the 18th century. The cottage, situated to the left of the main farmhouse, has a doorway within a plain stone surround and a small window. The barn, on the far left, features a round-arched cart entrance with a gabled pigeon-cote above, along with a small, dated window. Inside the barn are a mistal, stables, and a loft.
