Description

14, 16, and 18 Westbourne Street are three houses that have been converted into two houses, a flat, and a shop. They were built in the mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. The buildings are constructed of brick and topped with a tile roof, featuring gable end stacks. They stand two storeys high with an attic that is illuminated by three gabled dormers. Notable architectural details include a dentilled brick cornice and crenellated bands at both the ground and first floors.

The front facade has three windows: a 16-pane sash window under a rubbed brick head on the left, and two 3-light casements beneath soldier courses. The ground floor features four windows: a 16-pane sash window under a rubbed brick head on the left, a top-hung casement, a sash window with tripartite glazing, and a 3-light casement.

The entrances are as follows: to the right of the two left-hand windows (No. 18) is a pilastered wooden doorcase with an open pediment supported by scroll brackets, leading to an internal sliding door; between the two right-hand windows (No. 16) is another pilastered wooden doorcase with an open pediment and a 20th-century ledged and boarded door; and at the right-hand corner (No. 14) is a 20th-century wooden doorcase with an open pediment and a 20th-century door.
