Description
The southern part of the Red Lion Public House is a house that has been incorporated into a public house. It dates from the early 18th century, with some late 19th century and late 20th century alterations. The building is constructed of painted brick and features a tile roof with rear stacks. It has two storeys and an attic, which is illuminated by two flat-roofed dormers. A dentilled brick cornice and a floor band are present.
There are four windows on the upper floor: two 20th century boxed glazing bar sashes with segmental heads flanking two blocked windows. On the ground floor, there are three windows consisting of 12-pane boxed sashes under segmental heads, with the window to the right featuring 19th century flush panelled shutters. The entrance, located to the right of centre, has a wooden pilastered doorcase with scroll brackets supporting a canopy, and a six flush panel door, the upper two panels being glazed. The remainder of the Red Lion Public House, located to the north, is from the late 19th to early 20th century and is not of special interest.
