Description

Lower Fold Farmhouse and the attached barn is a late 17th to early 18th century laithehouse located in Oxenhope, Keighley. The building is constructed of coursed stone with a stone slate roof and stands two storeys tall. The farmhouse features three first-floor windows, while the barn has four bays. Notable architectural details include quoins and double-chamfered mullion windows throughout.

The farmhouse has a plinth, and a later doorway on the right with a plain stone surround and impost blocks. The ground floor has four windows arranged with two, three, four, and two lights. The first floor has three windows with two, two, and three lights. There is a shaped kneeler and ashlar coping on the left side, along with two shouldered, corniced ridge stacks.

The barn, located on the right, has a roof that descends to a lower level, forming an aisle. It features a quoined cart entrance and two windows on the left side with two and four lights. There is a plain stone surround doorway to the right, with stone on the left jamb. The left return of the cart entrance has a chamfered quoined doorway, and the left return of the aisle has a two-light window. The right gable also has a shaped kneeler and ashlar coping.

At the rear, the farmhouse has a chamfered, quoined doorway on the left, a two-light window on the right, a small square chamfered window, and two similar windows above. The barn has a chamfered, quoined doorway and a two-light, flat-faced mullioned window. The property is currently unoccupied but undergoing restoration.
