Description
The School House at Carlton-Bolling School is a building dating from around 1899, with some alterations made in the late 20th century. It is constructed of rockfaced stone with ashlar dressings and features a Welsh slate roof, complete with a coped side wall and gable stacks. The building has two storeys plus attics and consists of a single bay. The windows were reglazed in the late 20th century.
On the front gable, there is a window on each floor, with the ground floor window offset to the left. To the right, there is a projecting square wooden porch, which has also been reglazed in the 20th century, but retains its original stone plinth and hipped roof. The right side of the building has two windows on the ground floor, and above them, there is a single window to the right with a smaller inserted window to the left. The left side has a central window on each floor, although the ground floor window is blank. The interior was not accessible during the survey.
