No 133 SE 1733 35/35 (Butler House) II

  1. Late C18 or circa 1800 refronting of a C17 house. The wide 2-storey, 5 window symmetrical front is of painted ashlar sandstone. Plain paired brackets to eaves of stone slate roof with coped gable ends. Plain sash windows with keyed painted lintels. Good Doric pilaster doorway, panelled door, reeded doorhead, radial glazed semi-circular fanlight, broken entablature to well proportioned open dentilled pediment. The rear elevation has C17 sandstone rubble and though heightened and altered retains to left hand on ground floor a 6 light renewed chamfered mullion window in splayed reveal. One of the few houses of this period in central Bradford.
