Description
Rennington South East Farmhouse is a house dating from around 1800, which incorporates earlier fabric, and features a late 19th-century porch. The front and right side are built from squared tooled stone, while the other walls are made of coursed rubble. It has a Welsh slate roof with two stacks that have been rebuilt in brick. The overall shape of the building is L-plan.
The main section is two storeys high and consists of three bays. There is a central flat-topped porch with a plinth and a part-glazed six-panel door, topped by a band below a flat-coped parapet. The windows are renewed twelve-pane sash windows. The gable copings are raised with reverse-stepped details, and there is a stepped stack at the right end with a chamfered cap, while the left end stack has been rebuilt. To the left, a lower one-bay section features a renewed eighteen-pane sash window and a renewed six-pane sash window above, with a coped left gable and an end stack rebuilt on an old base. The end of the north-west wing, set back to the left, has a renewed door in an old opening under a reverse-stepped gable. The right side of the building shows renewed sash windows on both floors.
At the rear, the main part has a broad gabled wing with a central arched stair window that holds a twelve-pane sash with an intersecting head. There is a stepped-and-corniced stack with a panelled shaft on the gable. The lower part on the right, above an outshut, displays masonry that is of 17th or early 18th-century type. At the far right, there is a projecting north-west wing with a sixteen-pane sash window and other windows, all set in chamfered surrounds in the gable end.
