RENNINGTON BROXFIELD Smithy at south-east corner of main farmbuilding group

GV II

Smithy, part of planned farm building complex. Early C19. Rubble with cut stone dressings and stack. Single storey, 2 wide bays. Cart entrance on left has boarded double-doors under timber lintel; to right stable door and boarded window. Stepped right end stack with chamfered cap.

Interior: Old furnace with stepped stone hood, and bellows to left. Roof structure: 6 principal-rafter trusses on raking struts.

Adjacent altered farm buildings to west and C20 shed on north are not of interest.
