Description

The smithy, located at the south-east corner of the main farm building group, is an early 19th-century structure that is part of a planned farm building complex. It is built from rubble with cut stone dressings and features a stack. The building is single storey and consists of two wide bays. On the left side, there is a cart entrance with boarded double doors beneath a timber lintel, while to the right, there is a stable door and a boarded window. The right end has a stepped stack with a chamfered cap.

Inside, there is an old furnace with a stepped stone hood and bellows located to the left. The roof structure consists of six principal-rafter trusses supported by raking struts.

Adjacent to the smithy are altered farm buildings to the west and a 20th-century shed to the north, which are not of interest.
