Description
The Old Limekiln at Harlaw Hill Waste Disposal Site is a limekiln, likely built in the late 18th century. It is constructed from squared sandstone with a core of whinstone rubble. The structure has a semi-octagonal shape and faces north. The central opening features a depressed arch, while the side openings have round arches. The drawing arches are corbelled down to low segmental-arched eyes. Inside, there is a circular stone-lined pot that is now mostly infilled.
