Description
Nos. 21 and 23 in Denwick Village are a pair of estate cottages built around 1840. They are constructed from squared tooled stone and feature a Welsh slate roof with a rendered stack. The cottages are symmetrical, with one and two storeys and one, two, and one bays. The central two-storey section has canted ground-floor bays that contain two-light mullioned windows with plain sashes, topped with stone slab capping. Above, there are similar windows in gabled half dormers. The gables are coped and have finials, and there is a central stepped ridge stack, although the upper part of this stack has been rebuilt. The lower end bays have a pent roof and feature four-pane sash windows under hoodmoulds. All windows are set in chamfered surrounds, and the gables have pitched coping supported by moulded kneelers. The doorways are located at the rear.
