Description
Nos. 11 and 13 in Denwick Village are a pair of estate cottages built around 1840, possibly incorporating some earlier materials. The front is made of squared, tooled stone, while the sides are constructed from rubble. They have a Welsh slate roof with rendered stacks. Each cottage is one storey high with two bays. There is an off-centre vertical-panelled door in a gabled porch, accompanied by a 20th-century casement window on each side. The cottages feature 4-pane sash windows with hoodmoulds and slightly projecting sills, all set within chamfered surrounds. The gable has pitched coping and moulded kneelers between the cottages, supporting a central stepped stack that has been rebuilt on an old base, along with end stacks. The flat-roofed extensions at the rear are not considered of special interest.
