Description

The gateway to the castle grounds opposite the lodge to Allerburn House dates from the early 19th century. It features a round-headed archway with two chamfered orders and is flanked by buttresses that have set-offs. The structure is topped with wide battlements. Above the arch, there is a panel displaying the words "Percy Crescent," which is encircled by the Garter.
