Description

The round limekiln, located to the east of the Limery, dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble with cut dressings and features brick eyes. The kiln has a circular plan and includes a charging ramp on the south side. There are three segmental-headed drawing arches, which are supported by massive raking buttresses in between. The drawing arches have vaults made of closely jointed cut stone, with brick end walls that each contain a single rectangular eye. The structure also includes a circular pot. This limekiln is included for its group value with the main kiln.
