Description
This is an ornamental small building of unknown function located to the west of the west wing of Howick Hall. It dates from the late 18th century and is constructed from tooled squared stone on a rubble plinth, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The building is circular in shape and features a south-facing flush-panelled door with a fanlight set beneath a 4-centred arch. There is a north-east panelled door with a glazed trefoil-arched top in a moulded wood frame, and a north-west quatrefoil window set in a moulded stone surround. The structure has a moulded eaves cornice and a conical roof. Inside, there are apsidal recesses between the openings, which have timber lintels.
