Description

The cartshed and granary, located to the west of Red Stead Farmhouse, likely dates from around 1845, based on a date panel found on another building in the group. It is constructed from squared rubble with tooled-and-margined quoins and dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The structure is two storeys high and consists of ten bays. The front features a nine-bay segmental arcade with a boarded door at the left end, and above this are five slatted windows set in alternating-block surrounds. The building has a chamfered eaves cornice and coped gables. The returns display part-slatted arched windows with radial-glazed heads for the granary, along with a boarded door on the left return. At the rear, there are slatted granary windows. The pent outbuildings at the rear are not considered of special interest.
