Description

This early 19th-century cartshed and granary stands to the north of Northfield Farmhouse. It is constructed of squared rubble with tooled-and-margined quoins and dressings, and has a Welsh slate roof. The building is two storeys high and three bays wide. The front features an arcade of chamfered segmental arches, with slatted windows above in chamfered alternating-block surrounds. Coped gables top the structure. The right return displays an external stone staircase leading to a boarded door set within a chamfered alternating-block surround. A slatted loft window is visible on the left return, along with three similar windows to the rear. The building is included on the listing for group value. A 20th-century covered yard and the wall to the north are not considered to be of particular interest.
