Description
Nos 2 to 12 Sawrey Place is a terrace of small town houses built around 1845-1850. This two-storey structure is made of sandstone that resembles brick and features slate roofs with bracketed eaves and corniced chimneys. Each house has two window fronts with revealed sashes, ashlar lintels, and block sills, with some windows still having glazing bars. The doorways are pilastered, and there are round-headed passage entries. This terrace is included for its group value as an example of small-scale development from the beginning of the mid-19th century building boom.
