Description

A terrace of 15 houses built around 1840 in Bolton. The houses are constructed of coursed and squared stone with slate roofs. They are two storeys high with a double-pile plan, and most feature two windows on the first floor. The doorways have painted stone architraves, and the windows have flat-arched, painted stone surrounds, originally containing four-pane sashes, although many have been replaced while retaining the original openings. The eaves are heavily moulded, and the roofs have a raked slope. End wall stacks are present. The terrace was built as part of a model factory community established by the Ashworths of New Eagley Mill between 1835 and 1855, alongside Ashworth Lane and Eleanor Street. The interior has not been inspected.
