Description
No. 2 Hugh Lupus Street is a house dating from around 1840, located on the east side of Hugh Lupus Street in Bolton. The building is constructed from coursed and squared stone and features a slate roof. It stands two storeys high and has a four-window range, with the entrance positioned to the left of centre. The doorway has a round arched architrave and a traceried fanlight above it. The windows have been renewed but remain in their original openings, complete with wedge lintels. There are end wall stacks. The interior has not been inspected. This house is part of a terrace that includes Nos 245 to 249 Ashworth Lane, which was built as part of the model factory community established by the Ashworth family of New Eagley Mill between 1835 and 1855.
